This course provides a background in Productions and Systems Management. Techniques and methods employed to plan and control business organizations, service, forecasting, production scheduling, strategic decision making, quality control methods and measurement are presented and used to solve practical problems.

3. Forecasting
• Importance of Forecasting for business • Trends, Seasonality, Cycles and Randomness • Forecasting Methods based on averages • Linear trends and Linear Regression • Error Metrics - MSE, MAPE, MAE • Forecasting Performance and Statistical Control Charts

4. Strategic Capacity Planning

5. Location Planning and Analysis
• Factor rating analysis applied to location Planning • Center of gravity method • Practical Applications

6. Optimization Applied to Business Problems

In this project students are expected to research and investigate the role of Productions Systems and Management (PSM) within business organizations. Your group is required to select one type of Business and focus in one company. In this project, you should discuss about the importance of PSM practices and tools adopted by the company to improve their business and its competitiveness in the market.
